The Heart Behind the Mission

Jae and Amy, the husband-and-wife team behind CT BEDS, are no strangers to struggle.

Jae comes from humble beginnings, raised in a world where nothing was handed to him, where strength was forged through adversity, and faith kept him grounded.

Amy, too, grew up with resilience and heart — rooted in compassion and guided by a quiet strength that’s impossible to ignore.

At the core of CT BEDS is family — and one of the driving forces in that family is Christina, Amy’s sister.

Christina is a visionary and a fierce advocate for people who are too often overlooked. She steps in when no one else will. She speaks up when silence would be easier. Christina brings not only heart to this mission but a fire — reminding us that behind every statistic is a person, a story, a soul.

As parents, Jae, Amy, and Christina understand the weight of wanting to provide — of knowing what it’s like to wish you could give your child more, and the heartbreak of watching others go without. That’s why every bed that we deliver is more than just a piece of furniture. It’s a personal mission. It’s a promise that no one is forgotten.

Together, they launched CT BEDS from the ground up. No big budget. No backing. Just conviction. They knocked on doors, connected with leaders, and were welcomed with open arms by powerhouses across the state. People saw their heart — and that was all they needed. From there, the work spoke for itself.

In just a few months, CT BEDS has become the only nonprofit in Connecticut serving the entire state focused solely on fighting bedlessness.

This is a family effort. A movement built from lived experience. We don’t guess what people need — we know, because we’ve lived it. We’ve seen what happens when people are down. We’ve felt what it’s like to be invisible. And we’ve experienced what it means when someone reaches out with love, hope, and a helping hand. That moment can change everything. And that’s what we strive to give.
